Tweed hit by second ram-raid in two days

A SECOND ram-raid in as many days occurred at Tweed Heads early this morning, but the thieves left empty handed.

The robbers ran a car into the front door of Get Hooked Seafood, at 2 River Tce, about 1.30am, according to Tweed Byron LAC Inspector Jim Cain.

The robbers left on foot after what Insp Cain described as a botched entry attempt, leaving their car behind.

It is not known at this stage whether the car was stolen.

Insp Cain said there was no indication the attempted robbery was connected to The Bottle-O, Terranora ram-raid early Friday morning.

Investigations will continue and police ask anyone with information to ring the Tweed Police station on 07 5536 0999 or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
