Tweed lane closures to make way for new water pipe
TRAFFIC Delays are expected on and around Kennedy Dr during August as the Tweed Shire Council installs a larger water main.
A new 450mm diameter water main is set to replace the existing 300mm diameter main, which has reached the end of its intended life span.
Work is taking place on the eastern section of Kennedy Dr from the Pacific Hwy to Boyds Bay Bridge.
Residents in this area will be connected to the new system before the old 300mm main is turned off.
The council will use night works to minimize traffic delays in the area however road users and advised to take an alternative route if possible due to parts of Kennedy Dr being reduced to one lane.
Works began in mid June and are forecast to take eight to nine weeks to complete, road users can expect things to be back to normal late August into early September, all depending on the weather.
