Tweed netball season winds up

A NUMBER of close netball games at Tweed gave the supporters plenty to cheer about, and not all our minor premiers walked away with the trophy - all grand final sports are played between two teams on one level playing field. The results from the Tweed:

10 yrs: Banora Pt Chickadees d minor premiers Cudgen Crushers 15-12; 11 yrs: MPs Cudgen Cyclones d Terranora Trubblez 29- 2; 12B yrs: MPs Banora Pt Kookaburras d Banora Pt Pelicans 33- 15; 12A yrs: MPs Seagulls Sonics d Banora Pt Magpies 36- 31; 13/14B yrs: St James Angelfish d MPs Seagulls Redskins 33- 23; 13/14A yrs: MPs Kingscliff Stars d Terranora Tigers 37 -36; Div 3: MPs St James Marlins d Banora Pt Vultures 45- 30; Div 2: Cudgen Treehuggers d MPs Cudgen Sunrays 21-14; Div 1: MPs Cudgen Chargers d Banora Pt Bee Eaters 45-27

  • MURWILLUMBAH turned on the heat for their grand finals and no spectator was disappointed with the efforts of all players.

The best player from each game was awarded the match ball as their prize.

11/12 - Hots Shots 12 d Bogangar 9. Player award - Tilley Foster.

Intermediate - The Storm 26 d Southern Cross Stars 19. PA - Tanae Boyle

Opens - Cougars and Waratahs. It was noted by someone other than me that by the average age of these players it would have made this a great Masters match!

Both teams took this game down to the wire and gladly no heart attacks. The Cougars eventually took the game 35-34. PA - Caitlin Rabjones.

A great way to end the netball season.
