Alleged armed robber to be extradited

Update, 10.03am: The 51-year-old man, wanted for armed robbery, will be extradited to Victoria to face charges.

The Victorian man appeared before Murwillumbah Court yesterday after Tweed Police acted on a warrant issued for his arrest.

He was expected to be extradited sometime today.

 

Initial report, 4.37pm, December 18: TWEED Heads detectives have arrested a 51-year-old  Victorian man who is wanted in Victoria for armed robbery.

The man had an extensive criminal history in Victoria leading up to 2009 where it was believed he moved interstate. 

Inquires by local police found the man residing in Tweed Heads. 

 

The man failed to attend his committal hearing and a warrant was issued for his arrest. There are other Victorian warrants in existence for stealing matters.

 

The man appeared in Murwillumbah Local Court today where Victorian Police will apply for his extradition.
