QLD Disability permits accepted

QUEENSLAND red disability parking permits will continue to be accepted in NSW, a spokesperson for the NSW Minister for Roads said.

However, legislation due to be introduced in March had many residents living on the border concerned their permits would no longer allow them access to disabled parking in NSW.

“Residents living in Queensland holding ‘red' disability parking permits will still be able to park in designated disability spaces in NSW from March 2011,” the spokesperson said.

“Enforcement officers in NSW are aware the Queensland red disability parking permits are to be accepted and treated in the same manner as any permit issued under the Australian Disability Parking Scheme.”
