Tweed councillors to meet at night

THE first Tweed Shire Council meeting is on tonight and it is likely to be a trend that continues.

The council started holding its monthly meetings during the day last year, but with three new councillors having jobs the officers have recommended that the meeting return to Tuesday nights.

Tuesday's meeting begins at 7pm and councillors are to decide the schedule of council meetings and community access meetings for the next year.

This is the first monthly council meeting after the Tweed Shire council elections earlier this month.
