Tweed teen on bashing charge

A VICIOUS attack has seen two teens arrested after they allegedly knocked two men to the ground and kicked them in the head.

Police were called to Seahawk Dr, Burleigh Waters, about 11.15pm on Friday following reports two men, aged 33 and 58, had been injured following an altercation.

"It will be alleged the men were knocked to the ground and kicked about the head after they approached two males in the street who were creating a disturbance," a police media spokesman said.

Police arrested two teens, a 17-year-old Palm Beach man and an 18-year-old Tweed Heads South man, at the scene.

They had previously been partying near by.

The injured men were taken to hospital suffering severe bruising and cuts to their faces.

The teens were charged with two counts each of assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear at Southport Magistrates Court on September 13.
