Tweed teen to face court on string of burglary charges
A PAIR of teenagers, including a 17-year-old from Tweed Heads, were arrested by Queensland Police on Monday following an alleged crime spree at Palm Beach.
Police allege about 3.45am three men entered a property on Jefferson Lane through an unlocked door, removing an amount of property and alcohol.
About the same time, in the same street, police say three men tried to enter a home before a resident disturbed them.
Two men ran from the scene but one was arrested by police officers.
Later that morning a business at Thrower Dr was targeted, with thieves allegedly smashing a glass window and failing in an attempt to crack open a cash register.
The thieves left on foot with no money or property.
Some time later police rolled out the big guns, calling in the police helicopter PolAir One to locate one teen and the dog squad to find the other.
Both men were found, arrested and charged with a series of offences.
The 17-year-old Tweed Heads man will face the Southport Magistrates Court on February 12 on one count each of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, burglary and commit indictable offence and attempted burglary and commit indictable offence.
The 18-year-old Currumbin Waters man has been charged with one count each of burglary and commit indictable offence, attempted enter dwelling with intent, unlawful use of motor vehicle and obstruct police and two counts of possess tainted property.
He will appear in the Coolangatta Magistrates Court on February 12.
