Rain brings "dangerous" floods
ROADS have been closed, low-lying areas flooded and businesses affected by continued heavy rain and flooding across the Tweed region.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a flood warning for the Tweed River at Murwillumbah and Chinderah, with peaks expected around 3pm today.
The warning, issued at 9.34am, comes after up to 300mm of rain hit the upper Tweed Valley in just three days.

Up to 150mm is expected to fall on the region in the next 24 hours, increasing the risk of flooding.
The Bureau warned that the Tweed River would reach a moderate flood level of 4.5m at Murwillumbah this afternoon, while at Chinderah it would reach 1.6m with the high tide around noon today.
