Tweed’s top model to compete in Miss Universe Australia
TWEED model Alieda Ross competed at the Miss Universe Australia state finals in Sydney on Wednesday night.
The 19-year-old Piggabeen girl's mum Kirrin Ross said while Alieda didn't get any further, she's incredibly proud.
"I've very proud she's so down-to-earth, and doesn't fit into the stereotypes some people place on models," Ms Ross said.
Ms Ross said he daughter was still involved in equestrian competitions, although modelling has been demanding much more of her time.
She said Alieda had done a lot of modelling, with about 3 David Jones, and more with Levi Jeans and Diesel, since the age of 16.
Alieda Ross has been working for Brisbane-based modelling agency Tamblyn since she was 12.
Mr Ross said her daughter, who works at FGF Bridal in Tweed, was passionate about bridal wear.
