Men arrested in bushland have cases adjourned, one in jail

2pm: TWO men arrested in bushland near Moore's Creek yesterday had their cases adjourned in the Rockhampton Magistrate's Court today.

Milton Christopher Williams was bailed to reappear on October 16, but Timothy Robert Walpole is behind bars after his bail application was denied.

He will reappear on October 10.

Magistrate Barry Cosgrave said the charges were serious with strong evidence and Walpole was an unacceptable risk.

He has failed to appear in court five times in the past and has six breaches of bail conditions on his record.

Noon: TWO men charged with several offences, including serious assault of police, will appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court this morning.

A police officer was allegedly headbutted in the mouth when he apprehended the two men in bushland near Moore's Creek in Frenchville at 5.40am yesterday.

A 24-year-old man was charged with common assault, serious assault of police causing bodily harm, obstruct police and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

An 18-year-old man was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of a knife in a public place.
