TWO large pontoons have washed ashore and Queensland police are trying to find the owners.

The two pontoons are of steel construction and approximately 3-4m square and 1m high.

They washed up at Palm Beach and are believed to be a casualty of the January 2013 floods.

Police said the topside of the pontoons appear to have handrails or something similar attached.
