Missing men in 'good physical condition'

UPDATE:

PARAMEDICS have conducted health checks on two men who spent last night lost in bushland on the Clarke Range, west of Mackay.

A police spokesman said the two men were in good physical condition, and were on their way back to Mackay.

"They walked out near Broken River… and were located around 8.24am," the spokesman said.

"They got lost last night, couldn't get out (of bushland) and waited until this morning and walked out."

The men were riding motorbikes, however did not have their bikes with them when they were located.

9.30am:

TWO men spent last night exposed to the elements after they failed to return home for a motorbike trip at Captain's Crossing near the Pinnacle Pub turn-off.

Mackay SES Coordinator Justin Englert said the two men had been located this morning.

Mr Englert said the men were reported missing last night.

"It was our thought that they were either lost or one might have been injured," he said.

"I believe they might have been found near Captain's Crossing, which is a popular area for motorbike riding."

He said the SES was waiting for an update on the condition of the men.

"We aren't sure if it was even our teams that located them because communication has been quite hard this morning."

8am:

STATE Emergency Services and Mackay police are currently searching for two men after they were reported missing overnight.

A 60-year-old male and a 51-year-old male were reported missing by their wives yesterday afternoon after they failed to return home from a day of trail bike riding in the State Forest.

A police spokesman said that SES and police were recently briefed near the Pinnacle Pub and the search is currently underway.

It is believed the two were riding around the back roads of the Eungella State Forest.
