
Tyalgum is on the menu for Australia Day with high tea
AUSTRALIA Day means a lot of different things to different people.
But the staff and customers at Flutterbies in Tyalgum don't have to worry.
Whether you're a meat pie bloke or a high tea lady, Australia Day at Flutterbies will have you dumping yer swag for a waltz with Matilda as you celebrate the quaint venue's eighth birthday.
Staff member Phoenicia Altaire will try to entice you with her butterfly cakes, while chef Leigh Robertson will have your mouth watering with anything from home made pies to gourmet meals.
Flutterbies opened on Australia day in 2005 and business has boomed ever since.
With high teas on the agenda and bush tucker on Australia day, it's going to be quite a show.
"There will be an Aussie theme throughout the weekend," Flutterbies' Solar Chapel said.
"It's always a big day in Tyalgum.
"There is a great cycling race which has become a real tradition in Tyalgum village.
"We are also beginning 2013 with a new chef.
"His fabulous bush-tucker Australia Day special menu which will run through-out the long weekend."
