Ultimate cuteness at Easter bonnet parade

IT was an ultimate day of cuteness at Murwillumbah East Public School for their annual Easter parade on Thursday.

Teacher aide Kerry Makin said the students could barely contain their excitement in the lead up to showing off their hand crafted Easter bonnets.

"The children get really excited," she said.

"They make their hats at home with their family; a lot of effort goes into them."

The kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students all participated in the parade.

"There were easily over 100 family members here," Mrs Makin said.

"It's really popular and a good opportunity for the community to come into the school to see what's going on."

The students performed Little Peter Rabbit and two other songs for the crowd, an exercised aiming for the kids to have fun and raise their confidence.

"Most of the parents stayed and ate with their children after which was really nice to see," she said.
