Unvaccinated kids can’t be enrolled from today

CHANGES to vaccination requirements for children in child care take effect today.

A child cannot be enrolled unless the parent or guardian has provided documentation that shows the child is fully-vaccinated, has a medical reason not to be vaccinated, or has a parent/guardian who has a conscientious objection to vaccination.

If there is an approved reason the child is not immunised and an exemption is sought the following needs to be provided by an immunisation provider or doctor.

An Immunisation exemption for medical reasons (contraindication) form.

An Immunisation exemption by conscientious objection form.

A letter explaining why the exemption is necessary.

Visit health.nsw.gov.au/immunisation/Pages/vaccination_enrolment.aspxto find out more, including immunisation requirements by age.

Alternatively, call the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809 or your local Public Health Unit on 1300 066 055.
