Up for grabs, 200,000 bras in world record attempt
BRAS are close to Lois McLeod's heart. So close in fact she is hoping to set a new world record for the longest bra chain.
What is a bra chain, I hear you ask? The answer is simple: a continuous length of bras attached end to end.
The current world record for the longest bra chain is held by the New Zealand Girl Guides, made from 170, 000 bras it extends some 170km.
Ms McLeod, a breast cancer survivor, hopes to smash that record by collecting 200,000 bras and to raise $200,000 for Cancer Council Queensland in the process.
White Lady Funerals Tweed Heads is collecting bras for the bra chain. If you have a bra, or two, you are no longer using it can be dropped in to White Lady's office at in Wharf St, Tweed Heads before the end of May.
