Urthboy to headline next year's Bleach festival
ARTISTS for next year's Bleach Festival* were released to the world yesterday and we can expect a stack of great Aussie bands.
Everybody will find something they like with a mix of indie, hip-hop and rock artists set to play, and this is only the first line-up.
Aussie hip-hop leaders Urthboy will make the trip from Sydney to be one of the headliners for the festival.
They will be joined by the kings of indie Oh Mercy from Melbourne.
Queensland's rock duo Busby Marou will take the stage after a jam-packed and successful 2012.
If you're into the harder beats Brisbane punk rockers Violent Soho will be back on home soil to also be headliners.
The boys have recently been on a two year tour of the United States.
Loon Lake, Thelma Plus, Oceanic, The Medics and Kingwood will also join the amazing Aussie star-studded line up.
Festival director Louise Bezzina said the artists were picked to support a wide variety of music lovers.
"It's very much about building the grass roots," she said.
"There's much, much more to come. These artists are some of the hottest acts in Australia."
Ms Bezzina said she was optimistic and expecting about 50,000 people to visit the festival.
"I really believe that we can do it," she said.
At the last festival an estimated 30,000 people attended.
The next line up will be announced closer to Christmas.
"Be sure to mark the dates in your calendar," Ms Bezzina said.
BLEACH* 2013 will run from February 22 to March 3 with a pre-bleach weekend on February 16 and 17 in Burleigh and Palm Beach.
Stay tuned for many more artist and event announcements to follow over the summer months.
