Bandits try to break into Rex plane at Lismore Airport

POLICE are looking for three men who broke into Lismore airport on Saturday night and damaged the emergency exit of a Rex airline's plane that was due to fly out early Sunday morning.

The men obtained a ladder from the hanger area and managed to get the exit door partially open but did not gain entry to the plane, Lismore police said.

They retuned the ladder before leaving the airport.

The damaged plane was not able to make its scheduled flight on Sunday morning, and passengers were transferred to Ballina airport to catch flights.
