IT WAS the crash that ruined Friday morning for thousands of people trying to commute into Brisbane.

A smash on the Ted Smout Bridge out of Redcliffe caused massive delays, as a traffic snarl snaked for kilometres.

Footage of the crash has now emerged on YouTube, showing the moments before the accident.

In the video, it appears that a red Mazda coupe overtakes others on the bridge, before veering left.

The moment of impact cannot be seen in the footage, only the aftermath which flings a car into view.

The prang on Ted Smout Bridge caused traffic chaos, a double-whammy for commuters also affected by a crash on the Bruce Highway southbound lanes north of Brisbane.
