Violent crimes still unsolved

POLICE investigations are continuing into three violent crimes committed across the Tweed Shire in the last three weeks.

In the most recent incident, a man used a firearm to rob a credit union in Murwillumbah on Monday escaping along Tumbulgum Rd with an amount of cash.

The robber was described as being of thin build and wearing a white shirt, black beanie and dark-coloured pants.

Police are also still searching for the attacker behind the armed robbery of the Condong Bowls Club on Thursday May 19 that saw two men locked in a strong room for over an hour.

The man behind an attack that saw a Salvation Army officer stabbed and his donation tin stolen as he walked to his car in Tweed City Shopping Centre on last Monday night is also yet to be identified.

Tweed police Sergeant Brad Stewart said investigations into the three separate incidents were continuing.
