Violent home invasion sparks appeal

TWEED Police are appealing for public assistance following a home invasion where a man was hit in the head with a bottle.

A 31-year-old man was hit when he answered his door about 9.30pm at Marana Rd, Bilambil Heights last night.

Three men, armed with unknown objects, forced entry to the home and continued to assault the man. 

Police said the men then stole cash and property before leaving the scene.

Paramedics treated the assaulted man at the scene for his head injuries before he was taken to Tweed Hospital for observation.

Two of the men were Caucasian, 20 to 25 years, and about 180cm to 185cm tall.

Police were not given a description of the third man.
