Visitors rolling in to see exhibitions at gallery

EXHIBITIONS at a region gallery have proved a big hit.

Tweed River Art Gallery has two popular exhibitions on at the moment with the Border Art Prize exhibition running until January 13 and the Rolling Stone Australia covers until April 1.

The exhibitions were planned especially to take advantage of families that visited the gallery at this time of year.

The gallery's assistant director Anne Schardin said this time of year did attract the families.

"There is always a bit of concern (about exhibitions) because out are trying to get what people want to see," she said.

"Some of the (Rolling Stone) covers are a little explicit."

The cover exhibition has provided popular with visitors.

"We planned for these particular exhibitions to be here during this time," Ms Schardin said.

An exhibition of Margaret Ollie's work from private collections will replace the Border Art Prize exhibition at the end on next week.
