Voice Weavers take choir on the road ... to Vietnam
SINGERS from the Tweed will pack their bags and head north next winter to perform in Vietnam.
The Voice Weavers, a Tweed based singing group, will embark on their exciting adventure to foreign lands in June next year.
Musical director Brett Logan said the group would head to Hoi An to perform against other countries in a choral competition.
"I've never been personally," he said.
"We chose Vietnam as it was an inexpensive destination and it is a bit different."
Last year 10 chorals from around the world participated in the competition.
"We're not sure how many next year but it will be good," Mr Logan said.
The choral will enter their talents into three categories including folk, sacred and open rules.
"It should be very interesting, Waltzing Matilda will be in there," he said.
The Voice Weavers are a busy little group with three concerts in the next two weeks.
If you're interested in seeing them in action Then Voice Weavers are performing at the Burleigh Heads Carols by Candlelight on December 9.
On December 15 they will be entertaining shoppers at the Centro Tweed Shopping Centre and on Sunday, December 16, the singers are performing in a show with several other members of the Gold Coast Theatre Alliance.
The group are already preparing for the competition and are looking for new members who might be interested in heading abroad with them.
