Wallabies lose Coleman for Bledisloe

THE Wallabies have suffered a major blow on the eve of the second Bledisloe Cup Test with lock Adam Coleman ruled out due to a shoulder injury.

Rory Arnold will return to the starting line-up alongside Rob Simmons and 21-year-old Queenslander Izack Rodda is likely to make his Test debut from the bench.

Coleman aggravated an existing shoulder problem during the Wallabies' last training session on Thursday in Christchurch and struck a forlorn figure at the Wallabies captain's run at Forsyth Barr Stadium on Friday morning.

The loss of Coleman will be a huge blow to the Wallabies.

The Western Force big man not only sets the physical and aggressive tone for the Wallabies, but he also calls the line-out.

Rodda is a big unit at 120kg and 2.02m but he's played only 12 Super Rugby games.

Coach Michael Cheika hinted at the change after training on Thursday when he praised Rodda's work since joining the Wallabies squad last month.

"One of the guys who's done really well since we've been in camp has been Rodda," Cheika said.

"I've really liked his attitude towards the game. Simmo is seeing there's a few other chaps around him and he's going to have a chance to get ahead of them this week if he puts his mark on the game."
