David Warner not a fan of Proteas’ rough tactics

CRICKET: Controversial opener David Warner has stirred the pot ahead of the deciding Test against South Africa, calling for clarification from umpires regarding the home team's "work" on the ball.

Warner's comments came after a devastating spell of reverse-swing bowling from Dale Steyn helped the Proteas win the second Test.

"We were actually questioning whether or not (wicketkeeper) AB de Villiers would get the ball in his hand and with his glove wipe the rough side every ball," he told Sky Sports Radio.

"That's another thing we have to try and bring up with the umpires."

Warner (pictured) also said questions might be asked about how both sides returned the ball to the bowler from the outfield.

"I think it comes down to the umpires warning both teams not to throw the ball into the wicket, which you generally try and do," he said. "They did it better than what we did, or more obvious than what we did."
