Flash flooding warning

THE Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) yesterday afternoon issued a severe weather and flash flooding warning for the Northern Rivers.

A slow moving low pressure trough lying over the state’s northeast was causing a very humid low level air mass along the north coast, with an approaching upper level system expected to deepen the trough somewhat over the next day or two.

The BoM yesterday said isolated thunderstorms may have produced localised flooding last night.

Rain areas are likely to become more general today with further localised heavy falls and flooding possible.

The rain is expected to continue tomorrow.
