Warning: Police out in force

POLICE will be out in force when the long weekend rolls around this weekend.

That’s the message from Tweed Police Inspector Darren Steel.

Insp Steel today said police would be implementing Operation Turtle to slow people down and ensure everyone takes care on the roads.

He said Tweed police will also conduct additional patrols on the streets and highways over the Easter holiday and Anzac public holiday break.

“With school holidays approaching there will be an increase in cars on the road as many people visit the Tweed coast region,” Insp Steel said.

“We are urging motorists to drive carefully and within their capabilities.”
