Watoto Choir at Banora Point
MUSIC from the Watoto Children’s Choir is set to wash over Tweed Heads tonight when they perform a Concert of Hope at Banora Point High School.
The choir has performed since 1994 and is made up of 22 children and 10 adults who will share their personal stories and experiences with locals during the show.
The children from Watoto Children’s Choir are orphans, most of them having lost their parents from Aids or war.
Audiences can expect to hear a soulful blend of African rhythms, contemporary gospel music and ethnic dance from the enthusiastic performers.
Past performances by the Watoto choir in the area have been sold out and the performers hope they will enjoy the same support at tonight’s concert.
The Watoto Children’s Choir is hoping to inspire music lovers with tales of overcoming adversity and gaining strength through performance.
The concert will begin at 7pm and admission is free.
