Weather watch: river and flash-flooding warning
THE latest update from the Bureau of Meteorology is that they are expecting between 30-80mm of rain widespread in coastal areas on the Northern Rivers this weekend.
But there could be as much as 100 to 150mm in unspecified localised areas from late Saturday to Monday.
"That on top of a wet catchment might cause some river flooding or flash-flooding so we want people to keep an eye on the bureau (of Meteorology)," said Richmond-Tweed SES spokesperson Janet Pettit.
Ms Pettit said loose items around homes like trampolines should be secured in preparation for the wild weather.
After 63 rescues during the last flood earlier this month, she also reminded people not to drive through water on the road.
The region's SES units will have a teleconference this afternoon to finalise preparations.
