Week from heaven ends on a bittersweet note

THIS week I have had another sporting week from heaven, kicking off on Wednesday with the school knock-out hockey competition.

My school (Kingy), played gun team Burringbar Primary at their home ground and went into the match never having beaten them.

It was a tough first half with Kingy getting an early goal, but not much action after that.

We scored late in the first half to put us up by a couple of goals at half time. Pressure off the goalie (me).

The goalie from the Burringbar team was amazing and definitely hard to get the ball past.

However the talents of our amazing centre Billy Skinner were just too good, and he led the Kingy side to a history making “first ever win” over the Burringbar team.

The final score was 8-0 and whilst Billy didn't score all the goals, his play-making is just something else and it is a privilege to play with such an awesomely skilled player.

He is only 12 and plays in the under-18 side. My prediction is that he will definitely be a Hockeyroo in the future.

THAT wonderful day was followed up by the School Rugby League comp at Casino on Thursday. I was re-selected into the team (which made me the happiest guy on the planet) and we headed off with three games to play in the day.

We lost the first, had a draw in the second and won the third against the home side - Casino.

We missed out on making the final round but improved on each game, a good effort.

I finished my wonderful sporting week with Rugby Union on Saturday, playing for Casuarina.

Last Saturday we played Colleges who beat us in the first round, but this week we turned the tables and had a convincing win and I scored my first try this season.

Low for the game: I upchucked in the middle of a scrum - Sorry guys!
