Weekend rain likely to continue

THE sky opened up over the weekend, with Tweed receiving 50mm of rain.

Weather Channel presenter Dave Kirwan said Tweed residents will not be seeing the sun much this week.

“Tweed received 50mm of rain between Friday and Sunday, and for the month of March there has been 130mm of rain so far,” Mr Kirwan said.

“It was looking like there would still be heavy showers this week, but that is no longer the case.

“The wet weather will last through the week with showers and some heavy downpours.”

Mr Kirwan said Tweed residents will not see the sun until Thursday when the rain clears.

“The lowest temperature in Tweed this week was on Wednesday with a minimum of 19.6,” Mr Kirwan said.
