Well-known Rocky limo businessman dies in rollover

WELL-KNOWN Rockhampton businessman Bill Boswood has died after his vehicle rolled over late Tuesday night on Artillery Rd.

Mr Boswood had been driving a Toyota Landcruiser which rolled at the intersection of Greenlakes and Artillery Roads at Sandringham, 16kms north of Rockhampton.

Mr Boswood was known around Central Queensland for bringing his luxury Hummer limo business to the region.

The Morning Bulletin reported on Mr Boswood in 2011 when his stretch-Hummer started turning heads in Rocky.

The 53-year-old and his wife Shelley were inspired to start Hummer Luxury Limo CQ thanks to one of their grandsons.

In 2011 the couple told the Bulletin their grandson received a Matchbox Hummer toy and their son googled the popular American 4WD.

"Our son said 'Rocky doesn't have a stretch Hummer, you need to get one'," Shelley explained.

The couple, who are parents of four, have had a thriving business over the years, escorting teens to their formals and brides to their wedding among many other events.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
