TYALGUM is gearing up for the Heart of the Caldera Wellness Festival.

Leading alternative health practitioners, therapists, healers and producers will gather under one roof next month for the inaugural festival.

There will be a variety of informational chats throughout the day.

The festival will also showcase the variety of organic, herbal and wellness products available in the region.

Many of these are locally manufactured in thriving cottage industries.

"We'll also have hand-made jewellery that incorporates healing rocks and a good selection of educational wellness books," organiser Solar Chapel said.

Festival-goers will have many healthy choices when it comes to food, with local caterers presenting a delectable array of organic goodies, including Soul Fire Cocoa Genesis' organic, raw, fair trade chocolate. The Heart of the Caldera Wellness Festival will run from 9.30am to 5.30pm on Saturday, April 27 at the Tyalgum Hall.
