What a light show! Wild storms sweep across Downs

HEAVY rain and a spectacular lightning display rolled over Toowoomba last night.

Golf-ball sized hail was reported near Stanthorpe late yesterday afternoon.

The severe thunderstorms swept across the Darling Downs and Southern Downs council area for most of the afternoon.

More than 20mm of rain was recorded in parts of Toowoomba between 7 - 8.30pm.

A late shower is forecast for today.
