Where will the Big One fall?

GOLD Lotto's $30 million birthday megadraw is set to pop tonight, and in anticipation Golden Casket has revealed where the Gold Coast falls in division one winning entries.

Between January 1 and June 30, 34 lucky Queenslanders claimed division one Saturday Gold Lotto prizes, worth a combined total of $31,833,716.

Brisbane's north side claimed almost a quarter of the state's division one Saturday Gold Lotto wins, with eight first division wins totalling $9,031,932.

The Sunshine Coast and Brisbane's south side shared second place with six divisions one wins each in 2011, totalling $4,143,780 and 43,846,400 respectively.

The Gold Coast followed with five first division wins.

Golden Casket's public relations executive Louise Azzopardi said Gold Lotto is a game of chance, and every game played has an equal chance of winning.

“While some regions in Queensland have had multiple division one wins this year, it doesn't guarantee they will sell the next big winner,” Ms Azzopardi said.

“There's no way of pre- dicting where the next win- ning entries will be sold.”

Ms Azzopardi said the best piece of advice Golden Casket can offer players is to register their entries to a Winners Circle Card.

“If a registered entry wins a division one prize, Golden Casket is able to contact the winner the business day after the draw to tell them the amazing news,” she said.

Tickets are on sale until 7.30pm tonight.
