Why this shop is selling designer threads for $10 a piece
WOMEN'S designer fashion will be available at a special pop-up shop open at Murwillumbah until Saturday to raise money for end-of-life care provided by Tweed Palliative Support.
All items at the fashion shop on Murwillumbah St are brand new, from sizes small to XXL, and are for sale for only $10 a garment.
TPS president Meredith Dennis picked up the clothes, worth $50,000 in retail, last week after a friend of hers closed down Sydney-based business Niccita, donating the stock.
TPS National program manager Liza Nagy said proceeds from the Murwillumbah fashion shop will go to TPS and the award-winning Wedgetail Retreat at Dulguigan.
Wedgetail Retreat offers a non-profit medical hospice for the terminally ill.
"We had about a thousand items arrive in stock on Monday, and they're all new, in package, and we expect lots to still be available up to Saturday," Ms Nagy said.
"There's trousers, jackets, and a lot of tops and shirts in casual and dressy style.
"There's a mix of winter and summer garments, in lightweight materials and some hoodies and nice jackets."
