Woman, 19, arrested over Tweed Telstra break and enter

A 19-year-old Currumbin woman has been arrested following a break and enter at a Telstra shop in Tweed Heads South.

On Friday the shop, on Greenway Drive, was the subject of an alleged break, enter and steal, said police from Tweed Byron Local Area Command.

Subsequent inquiries indicated a possible vehicle and female allegedly involved in the offence.

About 8.30pm Saturday police located a vehicle, which had been reported as stolen, parked at the rear of the BP service station, Kennedy Drive Tweed Heads West.

A female who was in the driver's seat was arrested and the vehicle searched.

Police located a number of items allegedly linked to the break and enter and the female was conveyed to the Tweed Heads Police Station where she was charged with take and drive conveyance without the consent of the owner, aggravated break enter and steal and goods in custody suspected of being stolen.

She was refused bail to Tweed Heads Local Court on Sunday.

She has subsequently been granted conditional bail to Lismore Local Court on March 22.
