Woman driver blows 0.299 or six times over the limit

DRIVING while nearly six times the legal limit has been described as an "out of character episode" for Kathryn Mary Wolfe.

Police received reports on July 20 of an intoxicated person who had left The Cri bottle shop. Officers intercepted Wolfe's vehicle where she recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.299.

She was arrested and taken to Dalby watch house.

Wolfe, 32, refused to surrender her personal items to officers and police had to restrain her to retrieve them.

She appeared in Dalby Magistrates Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to drink driving and obstructing a police officer.

Defence solicitor Cliff Kroesen said his client had been drinking during the day and no longer knew what she was doing.

Mr Kroesen said Wolfe had never been inside a police station and did not understand the requirements which followed her arrest.

Magistrate Kay Ryan sentenced Wolfe to an eight-month probation order. She recorded a conviction and disqualified Wolfe from driving for 18 months.
