Woman injured in altercation

POLICE are investigating an altercation between two groups of people that occurred at Tweed Heads Liquorland at 12.20pm. 

Tony Stanford, duty operations manager for the NSW Ambulance Service Tweed Valley region, said paramedics treated a woman at Tweed Heads police station for abrasions and lacerations to her hands.

Police said the injuries were not consistent with knife wounds.

It is believed the woman is in her late 30s.

As of 5.30pm police investigations were continuing and two people were assisting police with their inquiries.
