Woman in murder case walks free

A WOMAN found guilty for her part in the 2008 murder of Gold Coast drug dealer Saaid Zaiter walked free from Lismore Supreme court today.

Jessica Berkensleigh, 25 of Victoria appeared in Lismore Supreme Court for sentencing following Monday's guilty verdict the jury handed down on the charge of accessory before the fact of robbery.

Justice R A Hume sentenced Berkensleigh to 18 months jail but as she had already spent 18 months in custody she was allowed to walk free.

On Tuesday, Rick Humphries, formerly of Goonellabah, was sentenced to 6 years jail with a non parole period of three years and nine months, on the charge of manslaughter.

A date is yet to be set for the sentencing of her co-accused Rodney White and Todd Serone.
