Woods a knockout at Ryder Cup

TIGER WOODS has become used to making apologies, and he made plenty during the final Ryder Cup practise round.

Woods repeatedly apologised to a fan, identified as Larry Johnson, after a wayward drive on the 18th hole at Chicago's Medinah Country Club caught Johnson flush on the head.

Johnson generously said it wasn't Woods' fault, but the World No. 2 insisted it was.

He signed a glove for the fan who was knocked out cold in the incident and was taken to first aid.

Woods was paired with Steve Stricker for the first match against English pair Justin Rose and Ian Poulter for the four ball better ball matches that kicked off the competition overnight.
