Woolly ‘leggings' take off
TREE bombing is happening at Cabarita.
But don't dive for cover.
It's just the expression used for a quirky trend that is sweeping the world.
The fad involves dressing the limbs of trees in brightly coloured woollen leggings.
The Daily News "went out on a limb" to find out more about the trend, which has been kicked off by Cabarita resident Lyn Cahill.
"People probably think I'm a bit eccentric," she said.
"But I don't mind.
"It's fun and it's a form of street art.
"I keep adding to the display.
"It's a work in progress."
No doubt many people have wondered what the significance is of these decorative trees.
Neighbour Amanda Bele has often wondered.
"It's a very unusual thing to do," she said.
"But I like it.
"It has always fascinated me, but I never thought to ask about it."
