Work underway on one-stop government shop

SOME tradies would have the day off, with all the rain and bad weather around, but not the crew at Tweed Heads Electrical.

With the majority of carpentry work complete on the new one-stop state government shop in Rivendell, Tweed Heads South all the electrical and data cable is being installed.

Nathan Meddick, Rod Schaefer and Luke Wall were all hard at work when My Daily News dropped in to check on progress.

"It's all mainly data and electrical work at the moment," Mr Schaefer said, as his crew pulled metres of cable from its packaging.

The building will host around 16 different offices including a transport department, only 50m off the Tweed Heads South exit, making it a near perfect location.

Once the electrical and data install is complete, the paint and flooring are all that remain to be done.

Things are looking on track for the July 20 finish date.
