WRITING WITH CAPS LOCK ON: The secret to getting a payrise

IT APPEARS that if you want a pay rise, the best thing to do is talk about it - with the caps lock on.  

That is the lesson learned by Melbourne's Metropolitan Fire Brigade after administration staff won average pay rises of 21% over three years.  

The union campaign involved staff working with their caps lock on, using the management's parking spaces and eating their lunch in the executive offices.  

The Age reports the deal came into place on Christmas Day.
