Young boy escapes daylight abduction at Tweed Heads

A YOUNG boy's determined struggle prevented a child abduction in broad daylight at Tweed Heads on Sunday.

Tweed Police are appealing for public assistance after the six-year-old was grabbed by a man outside of Elevation Church at Caloola Dr, Tweed Heads about midday.

The boy kicked and screamed before he was released at the end of the church's driveway, according to a statement by Tweed Police.

The man, described only as wearing dark clothing, then got into a black car with metallic paintwork and drove away.

Tweed Byron Local Area Command was informed on Monday and launched an investigation.
