YOUR PHOTOS: First day back at school
TWEED shire parents and children were delighted yesterday as Term 1 kicked off in earnest for most state and independent schools.
A sprinkling of rain didn’t dampen spirits at St Joseph’s Primary School, Banora Point, where Tweed Daily News caught up with plucky youngsters taking their first step into senior school.
Sacha Thompson, 12, was “a little bit nervous” about being at ‘St Joey’s’, having come from Tweed Heads Public School.
“I have some friends coming from primary, though, so I’m excited to to see them,” she said.
Kate Quinton, mother to Grace - also at her first day on Year 7 - said there was an emotional build-up to today.
“I’m looking forward to Art and Science,” said Grace.
